Bio

Photographer Toni Ireton, born Antoinette Ireton in January 1982, in Carlow, Ireland, now lives a stone's throw from Dublin. Having no sisters, Toni grew up having to fend for herself amidst her two brothers. She has struggled with dyslexia all her life, and so, rather than focussing on academics, she became more in touch with her creative side. Growing up, she was an avid watcher of Make-and-Do programmes , and getting dirty climbing trees (her mother didn't mind, and always had the washing machine on the go! ) After secondary school she did a variety of courses, from Sculpture to Fashion Buying and Merchandising, in a bid to figure out where she belonged. Within this mesh of different courses, photography was included in some of them, but it wasn’t until she started her degree in Audio Visual Media, in ITT Dublin in 2004 that she really found a love for photography.

During her time at college Toni tried different aspects of photography and eventually found herself more often than not in the pit of some sweaty Dublin gig taking live photos of Irish bands. It was within her latter years of college that she really got into fashion photography, in which she found an automatic addiction. During the summer before her final year, Toni assisted one of Ireland’s top fashion and music photographers, Lili Forberg.

Toni was first published nationally while still in college. Published first in Hotpress Magazine (Ireland's premiere music magazine) in August 2007 with a photo of Irish up-and-coming band Fight Like Apes live at Castle Palooza festival. In February 2008, Toni was published once again in The Sun and The Sunday World, with photos of behind the scenes of the video shoot for Rimmel make up with the Miss Diva NextDoor Ireland.

In her first year since leaving college, she has had multiple fashion shoots printed in The Irish Sun newspaper, and one in The Mirror news paper. In 2009 she has had two fashion shoots printed in the first two issues of Dublin's newest free magazine, Lime House.

Currently she is working on developing and moulding her own personal style.
