weekend in wicklow

i went away for the weekend to Newtown mount Kennedy.... a small town in Wicklow. i need to RELAX.... and that i did, by keeping bussy.. as ya do... we got down on friday... so we went down the coast to wicklow town and then hit the coast road to go down to Britas bay

i camped here during the summer... (camera phone pix)

On Saturday we visited glendalough... sooo many people about... we walked the lower lake. i have done some of the other walks before...

the most exciting part of it all was the next place we visited.... Lough Dan.... it is a scout camping place.

this is where we puled up to park, in frount of this... and it was the crazest feeling in the world... EVER... there that mettla thing in the middle of the photo is.. that is where we camped for this thing called the Smyth cup... in 95' or 94' i think... and we WON.

this is the lake... i never thought id ever see this again in my life... and for years i couldnt picture it, coz all my photos burned in the house fire a few years ago... but as soon as i saw it, it was like i only saw it yesterday....the best feeling in the world. ...

we then drove up to the Sally gap... my granthmother used to sing a song to my mother when she was young about the sally gap, and my mum had never seen it, so it was a must... along the way all these really old cars were out on there sunday drive i guess

its really odd this.... we addopted our dog, when she was about 2. we got her from a dog pound. she was found wondering the streets. we have had her for a good few years now, she has never run away from us. but she quickly learned her new name.

we went camping... it was so much fun. there was a beach on the camp sight the first night... we went down and made fire... we cleaned up after, and made sure there were no hot sinders left coz the kids would be down prob like an hour after we left...

so this evening instead of righting some thing i have been meaning to do for DAY's (that is 2 days) im half way throw it and start have a chat with myself as i role a cigarette. firstly i have a new obsetional track. its 7m 48 s long.... its called Dig it, its a remix.
pluss i got a massage today. been meaning to do it for a while now. aparently, this is how she dicribed it to me, toxins, in my back, thats how i have this knot. a know the ones under youre sholderblade... man it was driving me bananas... my whole back really. its all feelin a lot better now... even the musles in my sholders which have been tence for ages... so a mixture of the track and the massage, has me in flying form..

im not good with all this heat, and my room just seems to hold the heat, so i have my fan blasting me with some cool air... its fab. at night time i get radiculiousl hot feet, so i blast it at my feet. its GREAT... o the little things that bring joy to my life.

so i did this shoot the other week with a band called this is how it ends.

OK... so its been out a few weeks now.... and im supper late in all mt blogging at the mo. but on a good note i started bk at the gym this week. i went for the 2nd time this week this morning. i worked till i couldnt stand my own smell any more. ha. half a stone more and i will hit 2 stone loss. so also i have been seeing these pill adds on TV for Ailly or some spelling like that. you know the ones. well.... i decided to give it a bash, 2 week trial... ill update at the end of 2 weeks. aparentl its 3 a day....

I had an amazing weekend the other week. I went down to Life Festival with a bunch of my fav friends. im so glade i went. the sun was shinning, which was great for every one else... im no big fan, now befor you start screaming at your comp there at me, i burn easy. i brought loads of sun screne this time and no burn, except the top of my head... woops... but i got loads of freckles, i now have famers freckels, kinda like famers tan but with freakls... ha...

it was prity much like a big party in a feild with a barn... not painting the best picture here... fill in the blanks toni. it was kinnda like a little maze, with loads of small squair gardens with big walls. grat for chillin in, some of them had the human music... but i like the tent with the drum and base... my kinnd place... but one night they had this MC, and sinead says to me, god he sounds like kid... i laughted at her coz earler we heard him with this thick irish acent askin some one he knew in the crowd for a drink. (kid has an english accent) ha...

i ducked and dived from the cameras all day... worked hard at it, but apparently i lost concentration there for a mint, (i was doing some recording for El at the time) and they got me,not alone did they get me, that cut made the show.... how horrific....ha.... (nervous laughter rite there)

What a day this was indeed way back there in Feb. The day i got to sit in on set with the lads from Noise control as they made there Music Video for Addiction (one of my fav tracks of theirs). It was a Saturday and the lads had to be there for 8am, ha, that was not happening for me... i rolled up round 10 am. which was early for a Saturday for me.... i forgot how much i love being on a film set... its been a while. We went to get lunch half way tho, and mark and i ordered the soup, it was some spicy tamato soup.... i think i eat like half of it, funky soup.... and i robed his bread... ha... he willing gave it up, if any 1 asks. i dont eat white and he had brown...... what a gentailman... (dots are for you kid). so much happened that day, and its the soup story i remember, ha....

im so excited after the day that was today(great and horrific all in one) after my dressing gown being in the back of one of the make up girs car for the last month i finnally got it back today. why it was there is simple we were using it on a shoot. but o i missed it sooo much its amazing. And im not kidding.

rugh day today. im using a 'the Hills' quote, i want to for give and forget..... if ur a hill watcher youll know what i mean, hahaha.....:)

no a mad weekend at all. just what i needed after the last few weekends. Brady and i chilled by the watter all weekend. out where i live on Saturday by the Liffy, it was sweet. we drank a few till the sun was going down. we were getting sad coz the sun was going down so we tried to hold it up for a while ha

i was totally lovin life today. i dont say that often. but it was a Beach day. a few beerski's and a ooooooo yea we did it, Brady has the best ideas, Barbiqu on the beach. we bought way to much food as you will see and didnt manage to eat it all. but it was ALL good.

my achivment for the day.i cant belive i remembered how to make a bridgets cross. ha

we were well prepared. blankets and all. ha. we planed sat eve... kinda.... we forgot plates and eating utensils, ha

this is MARLY

not our dog, we dont know who owns the dog. but he came to keep us company for a while. i think he could smell the food. look how nice he looks, but had a bark on him. this 84 year old man, i know he was 84, he told us eekkk, came round the corner, and the dog took a disliking to him and started barking. the man was tellin us to keep our dog under control, but not ours, so Eoin goes to calm down the dog. the man leaves, and when he walks by again when leaving he brings rocks in his hands, saying 'i came prepared'. really was he going to stone the dog.

such a nice weekend to just chill out. just chillin out to some wikid The riff raff tracks to top off my day, chilled.

The launch for the first issue of Limehouse magazine is on the 10th THIS FRIDAY, you cant drink in a pub coz they will be closes so come on over.

in Urban Outfitters Temple Bar at 6pm!

The Hot Sprockets will be playing and it should be fun.

Lime house is a new FREE mag for Dublin, and promises to be chock full with loads of cool stuff, fashion, music, short stories, those odd people you see walking down the street, the odd stuff you find on the street.......

INCLUDING a very cool fashion spread by yours truly.

My first spread in a mag, and i promise it will be worth seeing, that is the whole mag as well, :)

If you cant make it to the launch you'll be able to pic up the mag is coffee shops around Dublin City Center and normal places for the next month so keep your eyes peeled.

im working on 3 hours sleep after headin into IMRO show case last night, to see the red lables. fun night. i hadnt seen them play since oxegin last year, and now it will be twice in one week... iiccckkk.. its there EP launch on friday. i took photos last night so not again on fri, and its in pravda so why bother to be honest.

my lent thing was to try and be less scarcastic, well i broke records on sycarcasim last night... the shame, the amount of it... well to day is a new day and i still aint doing so well. tomorow is a fresh day....

just came back from Carlingford last night. wrecked now. We went up to Belfast on Saturday and got in some shoppin. haha... I knew people are always going on about the price difference on clothing and so i did end up bying some stuff while i was there, from shopes that had both pound and euro prices on them. i got 3 different items, jeans, shoes and a top... that had both prices on them

im mentioning this coz when i worked it out it SHOCKED ME.

the last time i lost my phone was about a year and a half ago... well done to me for keeping this one so long. but i sent an email to friends with new number.. ext... which i just found..

i have this friend from collage that is even more sycarky than me, if u can belive it, and he is like a few monts older than me, but we were older than most peeps in out class, by like, ahem a year or 2. :).

so i found this mail from him.

yeah your rite , its a pity i had only had 1 pint at this stage... makes me even dummer than most people. (im alrite admitting this, i had girls trousers on that night, and girls trousers have such a serious lack of pocket, its like a play pocket, play school pocket )

not really, when most people loose them sober, sure tis only a phone, I say we get rid of our mobiles and start ringing the houses again like in the old days, sure youd remember!

and then i started thinking about my first mobile. i must have been in 2nd year in school and it was black, this tiny screen and could hold 20 txts in the inbox, currently i have 1237 in the inbox, and it gets worse 713 in the sent box. come on, what is my problem. it has gotten so bad now im scared to go in and start deleating them. this is a problem for me. im gona end up doing a mass exadist of txts. i cnt go thow them all... or can i, ya know to keep the ones that make me laugh or whateve.ive been puting this problem on the back burner for a while. even random crapy messages, i forget to deleat when i get them. i bet i still have a few metor messages, you have sugsessfully toped up ur playschool phone.

ANTI V-day Bash

Sinead, Colin (aka the fresh prince) and i went to an anti-Vday bash last night. one word WICKID. so so so so much fun. i had a blast, and took like no photos coz i was havin to much fun. this one was an after thought in the morning. sinead the dico queen. she was pregnant with the disco ball but this is after. :)

we all got like an hour or 2s kip, and the 3 of us, headed out for some sort of nourishment. we walked for ages for a place that was open at 11.30 on a Sunday morning. we got to this what i can now only call a greasy spoon. look away now if you like going to cafes... i swear you wont want to be reading this at all.

so they had a full Irish, and sambos, i was in the mood for sausages and an egg but didn't want the rest of the breakfast, so got a sambo with my sausages and egg. what u will eat when u in a state, ha. but the other 2 had gotten there food, which took forever by the by. but eventually she brought up mine, we were upstairs. and on the tray was 2 full Irish brekies for the cupple behind us. so she put mine on the table, and told me they had no eggs left. and then some how she was reaching weirdly and knocked the fried egg off one of the plates on the tray. it landed on the spare seat.

she kinda looked at me and went woops, and picked it up with her hand and put it back on the plate. she then brought it over to the cupple and said NOTHING. come on....

we didn't know whether to laugh or cry, we all kinda looked at our own food. it really put Colin off tho at this stage he had eaten half his sambo. but when we left, sinead said, im so sure that the cupple actually saw that happen and eat it anyway. either way ill never be returning to that establishment. or a greasy spoon any time soon.

when we got back to the house there were still some people up, Colin went for a kip and sinead and i went to the park around the corner.... this was spray painted on the ground, how cool.

there was a bit of a stream flowing tho so we went to chill out there, by a bit of a watter fall, (TINY) but the sound was so relaxing. and cleared up the head so much.

shoot these boys about a week ago. The good fight. and what a bunch of lovely boys, ha men, they are all 21, or 22, i think. and i thought they were 12, ha, well like 18 or so. They are from Belfast. One thing i LOVE LOVE LOVE, and i don't use this word lightly, is when singers keep there accents when they are singing, and don't go into this false American thing. not only dose Ben keep his accent, but he has a beautiful voice, and so nicely mannered. they keeped me entertained the whole shoot with there banter. And had me saying wee (as in the word 'small') by the end of the shoot. :)

im a bad blogger at the mo. i got an ear infection last week after my day in studio in town, it was cold and snowey that day. went to the doctors the next day coz i didnt sleep a wink with the pain that night. i have been doped up on medication since. my brain has been a haze. but the good news, my ears are nearly better, so yay.

Royle Jam sessions

Spent the day yesterday with my fav bunch of genital men, Noise Control, while they were recording for RTE's Royle Jam sessions. not sure when it gonna be on the TV, but it should be good. the gist of the show is to rite and record a totally new track in 12 hours. it was quite cool to get a glips into that prosses. i know every band is different, but good all the same. Pool, an intricate part of the prosses. as long as i didnt louse an eye from a flying ball, or flying dart.

I left as Mark-kid was laying down the vocails so, im excited to hear how the track ended up. but i wont hear it till its on the TV....

verbal diarrhea, yes is apparently what i am suffering from at the moment. i went out for a walk with Sinéad yesterday and i tripped up over a branch, well a little stumble, no need for laughter just yet, but i said, o i just fell over a tree... so every other time i triped yesterday(which was a lot, im a fool with no balance) it was a tree just coming out of nowhere to get me. but we went to this deralickt sight. there used to be a factory there but it was knocked down a while ago, so plently of trees to fall over there. we brought little aple squirs, ya know the paistries, yum yum... and had a little picnic. ywe were sitting on rocks but when i got up my back side was num... but when Sinéad got up her knees were num, how radiculious.

but aparently this is the place where the kids go to meet up. there were a few lads in there and as we were leavin the girls arived. done up to the nines. what is this all about, the lads look like they were the latest of what ever the scrufest clothing they could find on there bed room floor and the girls were in full make up and all dressed nice. humm a bit of an imbalance there me thinks.

as were were headin bak to my place i was suffering more from the verbal diarrhea, i was talking about my ticking clock, and the not want of children, but i do this from time to time when i have 2 words to say and i mix up the first letters of the words, so ticking was cickin tlock, and even when i tryed to say it rite, i keep gettin it rong.... we were walking by a playground with kids in it at the time.

my mate Enda is the drummer for this band. we went to collage together. and i went to see them live befor christmass. and we were just chillin out before the gig so i took a few snaps.

my internet and computer were having some sort of break down all morning. a bit like me of late, ha. the good news is i have lost a stone and a half, so im proud as punch. now ive admitted it in public i have to keep going. and im learning to cook new things, like making soup from scratch.

this is my 08 all in a jumble. most of the pix i chose were for the memories that went along with them.

i was thinking about this new years eve while tipys on new years. i don't encourage underage drinking, im over 18.

new years is a time to make new resolutions, change something in your life. but people always after jan forget them, and just role back into there normal life. i just want to be more thankful of the people in my life.

We all needed picking up from time to time. and this year has been one of the hardest for me, in my personal life. and i have had a few people in my life who have helped me back up. I am most humbled and thankful to have you guys in my life.

i have always been about the small things in life. people are the ones who surprises you in the smallest way possible, which are the biggest things. a quick txt or call to say they are thinking of you, a smile as they great you, a laugh when your together, a hug to say they care. little things we over look each day.

so all that's left to say is bring on 09

what i call the 2 weeks from hell, xmass, new years, and god forbid my B-day. literally all in the space of 2 weeks. haha

well thats how i used to think of it, coz for the last 4 years i have had exams like a day or 2 after my B-day... this year, not at all... non of that please. so i can actually enjoy it with out anything looming over my head... or guilt.

it all started out last night i guess when i went assets xmas party. first time to a thing like that. i had to dress up, seriously, i had to leave the hoody and runners at home. it felt very strange. i love the fact that i can go out normally in runners jeans and a hoody. it has become like a 2nd skin for me. so i wore a pair of heels, coz i dnt have any flats that are not runners. dnt worrie i had the cons in the bag, and changed half way thow the night. i still looked funky, that would be in a good way, no dought. ran into a lot of people i hadn't scene in ages. and that is always wikid. weird night. but totally glad i went. and did enjoy myself.

as for xmass, its not a big thing to me... a day in bed, where i TRY to stay away from my computer (which never works, bebo... ext...ext...) and watch the same movies i have for the last for ever years. GET SOME NEW FLICKS for xmass. gggeeessshhhh

but this year. ha or should i say in 09', as i havnt really celebrated a b-day in 4 years, im gona do something, and try something new... thats all i want. and maybe some funky electro dancing.

been in a very thinky mood the last few days, and cnt shake it. ya no when your sorting stuff out in your head, some people like to clean, or right or listen to music or what ever you do to sort your head out. this is what i do.... as crazy as it is. i like to mess round in photo shop. i tend to create stuff that dose reflect my mood, or something that i find intreasting and mess with the idea of that i guess. just like to mess around. i love graphics. even as a kid i always drew. never really all that good at it. but god loves a tryer.

like we haven't heard anything else for the last number of months, but this is the first song about it that i have heard. it was always going to filter down to a level that songwriters would put it in there tracks...

it is of course called 'its a recession'. its by a wonderfully band called RIFF RAFF, a UK band, who i adore. (the track is on there myspace)

a friend of mine asked me , humm this time last year i think, if i thought male liricks were beautiful, (he is of course a male lyricist's), i totally wasn't in the mood to talk about music, come on there are so may other topics out there... but not for boys in bands, haha... so i told him NO... and stopped taking to him, haha....

but i have to take it all back. as a whole i never thought they were. maybe its that old thing about men are from mars, wemon are from veins, the connection was missing.... who knows...

but i found a lyricist's that the majority of his words are current and i connect with them. the above band.

really lovin 'my blood is brave' maybe that will tell ya what mood im in at the mo at 12.30 as i chat with nay about which Roses we like best.

i cnt seem to shake this bloody flue, its back today. it went away, my mum got it, and now i have it back... im not very good at being sick. i cnt sit in bed all day, it drives other people nuts.

i went out last night at 11.30, wasnt feelin to bad. i went to see the gentile men that are Noise Control. they were playin in my local hotel, setanta, for i think it was the DCU social night. i was talkin to them bout 9ish or something and they said they wernt on till midnight so i went back to bed for a power nap... haha...

as people know by now im a big fan of theres, and also they are just such lovely boys. so i went down just to see them, and say hay and such, but i couldnt help it. i brought the camera. its not like i havnt taken a million photos of them, but what the hayyyy...

i had no idea how to make a gif animation, how odd... but that was todays mission on one of my, i cnt stay in bed any more... im currently on another one of those, by the by. im sittin here with gloves on, 2 t-shirts, a hoody and the most comfy house pants ever, and a blanket over me... i mite boil over.

so we all have a clothing obsession, we all do, for some people its jeans... dresses,

for me its got to be runners, and epically skater runners. the comfort, the longevity, the style, oooo its like heaven for me. i went out shopping yesterday with my mum who wanted to get some cardi or something, believe me, ha that never happened, because of me she came away with a very stylish high color coat... and she looks great in it. ....

but me... it was a new pair of runners...aaaawwwwww... im so happy.

i now have 3 pairs of skater kicks,
the oldest, (and not that old)

when i wore these out with the purple laces, i was told i was crazy, ha, like that was a deterant.

i have always wanted a pair of RED runners, always. and when i saw these in the shops, i couldn't say no, i tried, i even left the shop, but had to go back. i couldn't really afford them at the time even. but i just had to have them.

not to pushed on the gold stripe, but we call it mustered, it makes me feel better.

and the latest addition to the collection,

because i love graffiti.

I have this running joke with 1 of my mates, we will end up being the 2 old ladies living down the road in the scary house with all the dogs, instead of cats, (i luv dogs). but i think i will end up with a room full of runners, who needs a walk in wardrobe full of shoes and clothing, all ya need is runners :)
